BUSH

BUSH is a social, cultural and photographic study of those who maintain a strong sense of community connection, mutual respect and shared purpose. Led by photographer and film maker Sam Thies, the BUSH project team journeyed through outback Queensland in 2020 - a year like no other - to document and share the stories of people and communities shaped over generations by the challenges of a harsh environment. BUSH project has culminated in a large format coffee table book, immortalising the stories and portraits of outback Queenslanders in 2020.
